Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Finish Powder Foundation in Caramel 110 - Review and Swatches

Nothing in my makeup bag screams luxury like this compact foundation by Dolce & Gabbana. The reflective gold packaging, the closure, the velvet pouch it comes with...every thing about D&G makeup is so irresistible - I bet no one can stop with just a single product. Later in this post, I will share why I got it and how I like it, but for now, lets just drool over the pics of this beauty!

INGREDIENTS
Not too excited about the ingredients especially since Talc comes as the first!
SWATCH
Since this shade is a perfect match for my skin, it is barely visible. I shall update you guys with comparative foundation swatches

MY EXPERIENCE
I have a little something for anything that's gold and when I saw this compact, I knew had to have it. Powder foundation and my dry skin are not best friends, but even then, I had been looking for a compact powder for my makeup bag so I could lightly do touch ups while travelling. Moreover, since I am gonna be going to the hottest place on planet for summers, I wanted a good quality powder foundation to keep my skin looking fresh, even when I am misty and dewy.
So that is how the search began and I came across this one from D&G and it all started with the gold packaging <3 Then I digged in, read all the reviews I could, in a hour or so, and decided to order this during the VIB Sale at Sephora.ca, as D&G makeup is unavailable in stores here!

THE SHADE
Luckily, I found an Asian blogger, whose skin tone looked like mine and she used this shade Caramel 110, so I thought, it should work for me too. And guess what! This is my perfect match. More perfect than I could have ever imagined with online shopping.
I would describe Caramel 110 as light yellow undertones in a beige base.

TEXTURE
The texture is smooth, not at all chalky or powdery. It feels silky and goes on nicely with the sponge included. I get a medium to full coverage with the sponge which I really like and the best part is that it looks amazing in photographs, as it blurs imperfections too.
It can be used wet or dry but I always use it dry because I like the medium-full coverage better than the fuller coverage from the wet sponge.
With a brush I get a sheerer coverage and it also works well as a finishing powder for my Chanel Vitalumiere 30 foundation

DRYNESS TEST
I did not find this to over dry my skin or make it feel uncomfortable like some powder foundations do. If I have dryness around my nose or any other place, it tends to cling to it. Since the weather is getting warmer and humid here in Calgary, I do not face much of that issue any more. So it is definitely a better foundation for Summers than Fall or Winter.

LASTING POWER
I used it without a primer and it lasted me about 5 hours with a heavier application (dry sponge). Over a primer, it can last all day long.

This compact can be purchased from Sephora.ca for CA$59 for a 15g (0.52oz) product. Most powder foundations are in the price range of CA$50-65 at Sephora with quantities as less as 0.32 to 0.4oz. I definitely feel much better with the classic gold packaging, the luxurious look, sponge and more product in this D&G Perfect Finish Powder Foundation. It works for me and I love it.
