Guest Blog: DIY Baking Soda Mask with Orange Juice
Hi everyone, I’m Livia and I am the founder of Oily Skin Blog, a blog dedicated to skincare for ladies with oily skin and I’d like to share with you a do-it-yourself recipe for an exfoliating mask. It’s very easy and has 3 main ingredients that are most commonly found is one’s kitchen: baking soda, orange juice and honey.
Every skin type can benefit from this facial mask but I have to say that during the application you might feel some tingling, stinging or itchy sensation, don’t panic, it’s part of the beauty treat.
What I like most about this mask is the fact that it’s not messy. Usually homemade masks tend to be a pain in terms of application, they fall off your face and get into your hair but this one it’s not. You can actually apply it on your skin and still move around freely.
To make the mask just mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a teaspoon of orange juice (which you get from squeezing a slice of an orange) and a teaspoon of honey. Leave it for 10 minutes and then massage your skin while rinsing it off with warm water. This quantity will easily cover your face and neck.
Baking soda is a known physical exfoliator and because of its abrasive form it can clean your pores from the surface impurities by massaging the micro-beads onto your skin. Mixed with orange juice (a powerful antioxidant) and honey (with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties) it becomes the ideal cleansing treatment. So why not give it a shot?
