I am currently investigating everything with hyaluronic acid in my skincare regime. I am sure many of you have come across HA and AHA and stuff like that. I wont go in to details but the simplest way to understand the importance of hyaluronic acid (HA) in our skincare regime is that it it keeps skin plump, hydrated and definitely younger. Ever wondered by babies have pillowy soft skin? Its because they are born with the highest amount of HA in their skin cells which diminishes most significantly after the age of 40.
So I still have time!!!! I need to chillax but since I use this mask almost every week, I thought I would write about it before I run out of my supply.
MY EXPERIENCE
I am a complete fan of Japan Silk Mask! I feel they are so luxurious and moist they can do a lot more than an average moisturizer+serum treatment. This one is from Bliv and is targeted towards keeping skin moist and hydrated and has hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient. On the packaging it says that HA can improve skin's water retention by 1000 times! Thats a big deal! No wonder HA has been around in so many anti aging treatments.
Anyways, this mask is supposed to be used daily but my wallet doesn't allow my to indulge in this every day, so I have made this a bi-weekly to as-needed affair. On days when I give my skin a deep cleanse, I usually follow up with this. This mask is supposed to be left on for 20 to 30 minutes and just like the Stem Revival Japan Silk Mask, its best to lie down with this on your face, as its a pretty moist and heavy mask. After 20 -30 minutes, I take the mask off and my skin feels soft and hydrated for the whole day. There is no sticky residue but I do feel like there is something on my face that I need to get rid of. So, I often would rinse with water after an hour or so.
I feel this is a great mask and works very nicely at keeping skin hydrated. In the long run, it could be anti ageing too!
