I don't even know why I never tried products from Sephora Collection before. It's like the 'big' brands seem more glitzy in store..may be.
I am ecstatic to share this gel eye liner from Sephora because I never thought, its gonna be so great. I have been using this for a month now and I love it! The best $7 I ever spent! Yea baby! Threw it in my cart during the "Sale on Sale" event, just like that and it is a sweet surprise.
Lets dig in..
SWATCHES
The texture of this gel liner is comparable to the higher end ones - its smooth and opaque on the first stroke. Its extremely black, which I absolutely love. I can do a thin liner, a thick one, I can smudge it or line my water line with this, used it as an eyeshadow base and it WORKS!! Never smudges, never flaked off. Its just everything, I want from my eye liner. And... I am quite particular about my eye liner...love this formula. Just a heads up, I have normal lids (not oily, nor dry).
Another thing worth mentioning is the quantity of this product. The regular price is $19 and its currently for sale at $7. You get 5.5 grams of gel liner for $7 and let me tell you, I dug in my makeup drawers and found that this one has the most product! Even my drugstore ones, the one from Rimmel, that I really like, is only 2g of product for $5-6! They do last a long time, but if you are like me and you apply black eye liners regularly, then you know how quickly (i.e. a year maybe) you can got through these.
Anyways, let's talk about a few negatives. The first one is that its never available in the Sephora near me or within 150 km from my postal code, so I have to order online :P:P
Secondly, its very hard to remove. I actually bought the Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover for this only, because, I assumed these must work well together. But that makeup remover is just mehh... So I use coconut oil to remove it from my lids or lower lashes and it comes of in an instant.
Coconut oil has found a permanent place on my vanity. Its so versatile and solves almost every beauty issue and deserves a full post. Removing makeup is just one of the million things I do with it.
So, overall, I <3 this product. Its really amazing and one of the blackest black liners I own. I like that it stays put and its truly waterproof. Does not budge at all! A must have if you are a black liner person.
You can find it at Sephora.com :)
