ESTEE LAUDER The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer Review and Swatch

I believe in the magical powers of a primer and there isn't a day when I'm not using one. Since my skin tends to lose its moisture faster than normal skin people, I rely on a good primer to lock in moisture and keep foundation looking fresh. While the silicone-y, slippery feel of primers may turn off some of you (including myself), the benefits definitely outweigh the 'feel of it'.
Today, I am sharing a newly launched primer by Estee Lauder.  It's called The Smoother Universal Perfecting Primer which is designed for all skin types. It instantly smooths out skins' texture for an even makeup application that also look great in pictures. Lets find out more...

As you can see in the swatch above, the texture of The Smoother is quite gel like with a nice slip to it, so it easily spreads on skin and fill in any fine lines or enlarged pores. Once its on, it feels like skin and there is no residue or tacky feel. The foundation goes on smoothly and The Smoother helps in keeping my makeup fresh all day long!
Over the course of using it, I realized that I got fewer patches of dryness on my face with this primer as a base layer which is a huge benefit because my skin is so dry and a hydrating primer is all that I needed at this time of the year. Estee Lauder also offers a illuminating primer for dry skin, which would be my next pick. It also made my pores appear less noticeable and prevented my makeup from getting dull. I really like it!
The Smoother is a perfecting primer as indicated on the label and is good for all skin types. Its more of a skin treatment with apricot essence to keep skin soft and smooth looking. I love this silky formula that does not feel heavy on skin like some other primers with similar texture do. It has a light scent in it which I enjoy. I like cosmetics with fragrances because they make me feel 'oh so luxe'!
The packaging is gorgeous too. I love skincare products that come in a tube, so I am never exposing them to microbes and they last longer because I am able to control how much product I want. The Smoother Primer comes in a slim tube packaging that looks great. It holds 1oz (30ml) of product and is still slim enough to make it suitable for travelling.
Overall, I love this new primer. It feels amazing on skin and works beautifully to make my makeup application smoother and last longer. Sometimes I apply it right over my moisturizer and lightly dust finishing powder on top for a no-makeup-look. It gives a lovely smooth finish to skin. The Smoother is good for all skin types and I would definitely recommend you try it out and see how incredibly smooth and hydrated your skin can look.
