This hot weather, dryness and fasting are really taking their toll on me. Somedays I feel like I haven't accomplished as much as I could have. I am such a morning person, its hard for me to stay up till 10pm, let alone eat iftaar! The lack of sleep has started to show on my face but the worst is dryness! My hands are so dry, it is unreal. I take baths to exfoliate as much as I could and hope things will return to normal once the fasting period is over.
Anyways, so I went for a little Eid shopping on the weekend and picked up this shade from Burberry. I really liked the Military Red from Burberry Nail Polishes and thought I could try something a bit deeper. Surprisingly, I do not own any nail polish that is this shade. OPI's Casino Royal is close but Burberry Oxblood is more red than brown making it more wearable at all times of the year.
My Eid outfit is quite bright and has hints of this oxblood color in embroidery, so I felt that this shade will be nice.

The packaging of every Burberry beauty product is so high end! Its so nice to see something that looks this good on my vanity. I love the design of the bottle and the plaid emboss on the lid. This bottle holds 8ml of polish whereas most brands offer 15ml. I wish the quantity was more, even though, there is not a single nail polish I have finished to the last drop, just saying...
The texture of Burberry Nail Polish in Oxblood 303, is smooth with a creme finish. It is opaque from the first coat, however, since its a darker shade, its always better to go for two coats to avoid any blotches.
The first coat of this nail polish, is a lot pinkish red than the 2 coats shown above in the swatch. I like that too. I also felt that the color gained intensity as it dried and looked a lot darker. I will update this post with a 3 coat swatch, after Eid, to show how much darker it can get.
It dries up pretty fast on nails and I loved that I did not have to wait ages from one coat of polish to the next. That happened with a number of my OPI nail polishes and that is when I stopped using them altogether.
Burberry Nail Polish in Oxblood No. 303 is a great addition to my nail polish collection. Even though this shade feels like Fall, I am happy to wear it all year long. Its like a neutral color for me, especially because I wear a lot of red polish.
