La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-In-Foundation SPF 25 PA+++ is the first compact foundation infused with Caviar Water. This perfectly light-coverage foundation can be used on its own or as an on-the-go complement to Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation SPF 15.
I am the shade Honey Beige in the Concealer Foundation so picked this compact in the same color. Once you open the box you find the compact foundation ( 15ml ), a refill (15ml), each with puffs and a protective case. Its not a typical cushion foundation where the sponge is saturated with foundation, but a completely new concept. The compact has liquid foundation underneath the mesh, which is released only when pressed and gets soaked into the puff included for application.
THE REFILL
Its easy to pop out the pan and pop in the refill. Its a beautiful design that can be a little bulky at times, however its is easy to use and always gives an airbrushed look to skin.
SWATCHES
From the swatches below, you might be able to notice that this compact foundation has a much lighter coverage compared to all the other foundations. It is definitely a much better touch-up foundation but even on its own, I can easily achieve a medium-light coverage. I use this on days when I do not feel like applying a full face of foundation and it gives me a light, airy feel while covering just enough imperfections to get through the day.
Overall, I feel its an excellent complement to the La Prairie Concealer + Foundation and a gorgeous piece to carry in my bag. It never dries out my skin and its very long lasting. I did not notice this foundation sinking in to my pores or breaking apart around the mouth. It stays put just like the concealer foundation and hold up well through this dry weather.
My skin feels smooth and velvety every time I use this product and can feel the skincare benefits of caviar water. It also has SPF 25 so my skin is protected from the sun with every touchup. Its a wonderful product for my normal/dry skin and something I love to carry in my bag!
